Rodney Brown

Rod's involvement with soccer began early when he represented the Bankstown District as an eight year old. In 1983, Rod was selected to represent Australia in the Under 20's World Cup in Mexico after qualifying in the Oceania Football Confederation Cup. Rod was again selected in 1985 to represent Australia in the World Series Club Tournaments, played against visiting teams from England, Brazil and Yugoslavia.

Beginnings

Rod was raised and educated in the District, residing at Omega Place, Greenacre. He represented Bankstown District in Soccer from Under 8 to Under 16 and in 1982 attended the Australian Institute Sport.

Achievements

In 1983 Rod was selected to represent Australia U/20's World Cup Mexico and in 1996/97 won the National Soccer League title with the Brisbane Strikers. He also assisted Apia Leichhardt to NSL championship success in 1987 scoring 14 goals that season. His soccer career would conclude by 1998 spanning 15 successful years scoring 137 goals.

Rod was the Manager for Brisbane City FC for the 2007 2008 season.
