In 1951 Bob had the honour of representing NSW against England in Soccer and in Cricket. His sporting prowess would take him to the soccer field where he played with distinction representing Australia against China in 1953. He would play in the position of centre half-back.

Beginnings
Bob moved to the district by 1963 and resided in Woodbine Street, Yagoona for over 30 years. He became a member of the Bankstown Soccer Club in 1953. Bob started his 1st Grade career in both Cricket and Soccer at the age of 16. Soccer with Canterbury Bankstown and cricket with Petersham and Glebe clubs. He captained the club in both sports winning the first grade cricket in 1958 and at soccer in 1960 winning the Ascot Cup.
Achievements
Bob played against visiting teams, Yugoslavia, Austrian Rapids, England, and Scotland's Hearts of Midlothian, Costa Rica. In the 1951-52 season, he played professional cricket and soccer in England. In 1959 he won the Sun Herald Soccer Trophy as Player of the Year.
Post Representation
Bob played and coached for three seasons in Newcastle with Southern Lakes. In 1959 he took up a position with Bankstown District Sports Club when it was first formed, he would retire 30 years later and was awarded Life Membership.
