Garry Manuel

Garry's introduction to Soccer began at an early age when he joined East Bankstown Soccer Club in 1957. In 1964 he would join Prague 1st Division and play in the position of striker. Garry would achieve international representation as a 17 year old in 1967. He wore the green and gold on six occasions to 1974.

Beginnings

Garry was educated in the district, residing in Macquarie Street, Greenacre from 1951 to 1978. He played Soccer with East Bankstown from 1961and then joined Bankstown Sports Club and remained with them to 1964. Garry would join Prague (1st division) and remain with the club to 1973. From 1974 until he retired he would play for Pan Hellenic.

Achievements

Garry played for Australia in U/23 yrs in 1967 and from 1968 to 1975 he was picked in the Australian Squad on fifteen occasions and played on six.

Post Representation

Garry retired from Soccer in 1975 and in 2008 it was announced that Garry as a former Socceroos would received a cap from FFA Chairman to recognise his time as player.
