Maree achieved the highlight of her career playing for Australia at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and would play a total 65 games for her country. She is part of Australian Women's Basketball history and represented Bankstown with distinction.

Beginnings
Maree was educated in Sutherland Shire amd represented Bankstown Basketball Association from 1982 to 1988. She was a member of the team to reach the Grand Final in 1982.
Achievements
Maree represented Australia at the World championships in 1986 where they placed 9th as well as competing at the Seoul Olympics where they came 4th.
Post Representation
In 2006, when presenting sporting awards to students from the Catholic Primary Schools in Sydney Maree said how it was “special being an Australian athlete”. “I loved being on a team and enjoyed the camaraderie of team and friendships,” she said.
