June d'Astoli

June represented the Bankstown District Sports Club in State and National Championships and won a National Title in 1972. She was runner-up in 1981 and 1983. June was also a member of the Australian International Test Team and has represented Australia on four occasions, in 1975-76 and 1985-87.

Beginnings

By 1963 June was living in Punchbowl South and by 1980 had moved to Georges Hall. She joined the Bankstown Sports Club in 1968. She represented Bankstown District Sports Club winning State Titles in 1977 and 1981.

Achievements

June was the first woman to be elected to the Presidency of the NSW Association of Indoor Bowlers which was formed in 1965 and also the first woman to have ever held the position of National President 1986-7.

She has also completed Administration and Coaching levels under the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation programme and has been involved with the Health and Media programmes - Blind Bowlers and Junior and Senior Citizen Coaching.

June is a Life Member of the NSW and National Councils and a Life Member and Vice President of the Bankstown Association.
