Jessica Hull (Jolliffe) is an Australian middle and long distance runner who is the current world record holder in the 2000 metres, set on 12 July 2024 with a time of 5:19.70

Jessica is a 10-year member of the Bankstown Spots Athletics Club. She attends the Crest athletics stadium regularly when in Australia, either racing in AA/ANSW/BSAC meets, training or commentating on Live Stream broadcasts. 

She has conducted coaching drills with Bankstown Sports Little Athletics and is extremely generous of her time. She is a wonderful ambassador for the Bankstown Sports Athletics Club and is immensely popular at the Crest.

Beginnings

Jessica grew up in Albion Park and began running in school cross-country and athletics carnivals aged eight. She also played soccer until age 14. Her training was initially guided by her father, Simon, who had been a national level middle-distance runner.
Jessica won the under 17s 1500 metres at the 2012 Australian Athletics Championships with a time of 4:28.11. At 17, she made her international debut at the 2014 World Under 20s Championships held in Eugene, Oregon, where she finished seventh in the 3000 metres in a personal best time of 9:08.85. Hull won the 1500m at the 2015 Australian Junior Championships, when she also finished third in the 800m. She placed 69th in the women's junior race at the World Cross Country Championships that year with a time of 23:11.

Achievements

Jessica is the World Record Holder at 2000m with a time of 5.19.70 set in Monaco in July 2024. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 she had the fifth fastest time of all-time in the 1500m in a time of 3.50.83. Jessica was a bronze medallist for the World Cross Country Relay Championships in Bathurst 2023. Jessica’s world ranking in 2024 is third. She is a three-time World Championship representative in the 1500m in 2019 in Doha, finalist in 2023 Eugene and finalist 2024 Budapest. In the 2021 Tokyo Olympics she was a finalist in the 1500m. In March 2024 she came fourth in the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Jessica is the current Oceania and Australian Record Holder for the 150m and 1500m indoors, one mile and one mile indoors, 2000m, 3000m indoors and 5000m. Jessica is a four-time and current Australian champion in 1500m and a four-time NCAA Champion. Jessica recently competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics in which she received a silver medal.
