Klemmer has played 19 tests for Australia (17 while he was at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs) and 14 State of Origin games for NSW and remains one of the fittest front rowers in the game.

 

Beginnings

David Klemmer's rugby league career began when he was signed by the Bulldogs as a 15-year-old in 2008. He played in the under 15s and under 16s for the CBDJRL during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Following his time in the junior league, Klemmer progressed to the Bulldogs' junior representative teams, competing in the Harold Matthews Cup in 2009 and the SG Ball Cup in 2010 and 2011. His impressive performances at these levels led to his entry into the senior club.

Achievements

Klemmer played 113 NRL matches for the Bulldogs, debuting in 2013 and finishing his tenure with the club in 2018. He participated in 28 games in the National Youth Competition (NYC) for the Bulldogs and was named the NYC player of the year in 2012. Representing Australia, Klemmer earned 19 caps, with 17 of those games while he was at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He represented New South Wales in State of Origin 14 times, all while being selected from the Bulldogs. Additionally, Klemmer played for NSW City twice, again selected from the Bulldogs.
