Having spent a long time residing in the East Hills area between 1988-2015, Callum played in his early days with the Georges River Softball Association which started in 2002.

 

Beginnings

Callum began softball in 2002 at Georges River Softball Association in East Hills. Callum became an exceptional player for Georges River, winning many State titles and player of the tournament, best batter and best pitcher of the series. Callum played for Softball NSW in his teenage years and again won many awards for his efforts. Callum was selected to play for the Australian team in 2018.

Achievements

In 2019 and in 2022 Callum was selected to play in the Australian men's softball team at the World Championships. In 2022 he was the Australian World Cup winner. In 2023, Callum was a coach for the Australian under 18 male team that went to Mexico. In January 2023, Callum was an Opens Player for the John Reid Shield Nationals. Also in 2023, Callum was the coach of the NSW under 19 men's Nox Bailey Shield and was awarded the University of Newcastle's most prestigious sporting honour of the University, Sportsperson of the Year 2023.

In 2023 Callum was named as a player in the squad for the Aussie Steelers for 2024.

Post Representation

Callum contributes significantly to the sport as a coach at various levels. In 2023, he served as a coach for the Australian under 18 male team that competed in Mexico. He also coached the NSW under 19 men's team for the Nox Bailey Shield in 2023. Callum participated as an Opens Player for the John Reid Shield Nationals in January 2023. He continues to influence the sport both on and off the field through his coaching roles and dedication to softball.
