Billy “The Kid” is an unconventional boxer with an ability to switch between orthodox and southpaw stances. The foot shuffle, shoulder-shake and mid-round crowd gestures are characteristics of Billy the Kid who has represented NSW as well as winning an Australian Title in 2002 at the age of 17 years. Billy also represented Australia to win the 2008 IBO Super featherweight division. In 2011 he would capture the IBF Featherweight crown and would retain this title in 2012.

Beginnings
Billy spent the first six months of his life in an incubator to combat his asthma, and continued to battle the condition throughout his childhood. Boxing came into his life at 12 when he joined Sutherland PCYC as he took it up hoping the athleticism and effort of the sport would help his lungs. Within months he was boxing for exhibitions. By 2001 Billy had achieved a huge streak of wins, and was representing NSW and training at the Australian Institute of Sport in preparation for a professional career.
Achievements
In 2008 Billy won the IBO super featherweight title against South African boxer Zolani Marali and went on to fight in the WBO featherweight championship only a few months afterwards. He lost this fight to American boxer Steven Luevano and it was his first professional defeat in 22 bouts. To date Billy has fought in 34 professional fights with only one defeat.
