Alan's success as a wrestler started when he won the Australian Junior Championship in 1967 as a ten year old and he would continue to excel, winning in 1973 and 1974. Alan was selected to represent Australia in 1979 at the San Diego, USA World Championships and at the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games in 1986 in Freestyle Wrestling.

Beginnings
Alan came to the District as a child and by 1977 and was residing at Eddie Avenue, Panania during his student days. He then moved to Henry Lawson Drive, Picnic Point by 1988. In 1965 at the age of eight years he became a member of the Bankstown Police Citizens Boys Club, a membership that would span 24 years. Alan won the Australian Junior Championship 3 times. The first time in 1967 at the age of 10 in the 5 stone division, then again in 1973 (70KG div), and 1974 (74KG div).
Achievements
Alan has won the Australian Wrestling Championships eight times in various divisions. He won the Australian Senior Championship 8 times, came 2nd four times and 3rd two times between 1972 and 1987. He held the National Championship Status in 1977, 78, 82 and 85.
Post Representation
Alan went on to become an assistant wrestling instructor at the Bankstown Police Boys Club and a Senior Constable with the Police Force.
