City of Canterbury Bankstown’s Australia Day celebrations are set to be bigger than ever in 2026 with the launch of a new event.

13 Jan 2026

By popular community demand, we’re bringing back an Australia Day tradition. Our Aussie Party in the Park will be held at Playford Park in Padstow from 4-9pm on Monday 26 January.

This FREE event will feature live entertainment, fun activities for the whole family and a spectacular fireworks finale. Highlights include:

• Live Baby Live INXS tribute show
• The Wiggles presents – Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends Show
• DJ Aria
• Picnic Point High School rock band
• Ignite Dance Company performances
• Food trucks with a range of tasty options
• Fun rides such as dodgem cars, crazy maze, sizzler, giant slide and swinging chairs
• Kids’ face painting, glamour day spa and boomerang paint workshops
• Aboriginal didgeridoo playing and cultural arts display

Before the Aussie Party in the Park gets underway, cool off at the ever-popular Australia Day Pool Parties to be held at Roselands, Max Parker and Birrong Leisure & Aquatic Centres from 10am-4pm.

The Pool Parties – for a small entry fee of $2 – will include a sausage sizzle from 11am-2pm, live music from a DJ and an ice block giveaway.

Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the events were important to showcase community pride and celebrate the modern, multicultural and successful country Australia has become thanks to the contributions of its hard-working citizens.

“Our exciting events will bring our community together for a day of fun, music and celebration,” he said.

“From splashing in the pool to dancing under the stars, there’s something for everyone and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
