Decoding “Thin-Fat”: Traditional Chinese Medicine insights into normal-weight obesity and metabolic health

Join Dr Zhao, Co-Director of the Australia-China Chinese Medicine Centre, Western Sydney University, for a seminar exploring the concept of Normal-Weight Obesity (NWO). sometimes described as being “thin on the outside, fat on the inside”.
Drawing on the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) principle of “Spleen Dampness and Metabolic Gridlock” (脾湿致壅) from the Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine), Dr Zhao will examine the connections between TCM theory and contemporary Western understandings of endocrine and metabolic health.
