Smoke alarms save lives! Many people die needlessly each year in fires at home.
The effectiveness of smoke alarms has been proven on many occasions, and they are inexpensive and easy to install. It is a legal requirement to have at least one alarm on each level of your home, without exception.
Fire and Rescue NSW can give you more information about the law, as well as information on the installation and maintenance of these devices.
We also have a Smoke Alarms Battery Replacement for the Elderly program.
For more information, contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 9707 9000.
