Seniors Week
There won’t be a spare spot left when local seniors race to secure their place in activities scheduled for Canterbury-Bankstown’s Seniors Week (3-10 March).

The week will kick off with seniors being able to enjoy the picturesque sculptures along the Georges River, at the Crosscurrents Bus Tours, on Friday 3 March.

Administrator, Richard Colley, said another highlight of the week would be the coach trips to Kiama (6-9 March).

“Tickets for our Seniors Week activities always fly out the door, particularly our day trips which traditionally sell out within hours every year,” Mr Colley said.

“I expect the same will happen this year especially because seniors will be able to take a trip down south, to Kiama, where they can take in the breathtaking views of the blowhole and lighthouse.

“Our seniors continue to contribute to our community, so our annual Seniors Week program is a small way of saying thank you for all they have done.

Tickets for the Kiama Coach Tours and the Seniors Spectacular are on sale at Council’s Customer Services Centres.

Other events include:

  • The Seniors Spectacular Back to the Tivoli Variety Show; • A Seniors Have Talent Showcase;

  • A seniors golf tournament at Sefton Golf Course;

  • Social Tennis and coaching clinics;

  • A variety of library activities;

  • Gardening for Everyone at Revesby Workers Club; and

  • Ageing with Creativity at the Bankstown Arts Centre including Salsa for Seniors and a short film, Night Sky.

**Tickets are available to Bankstown residents aged 60 years and over only. A Seniors Card and form of identification are required to verify residency and age. Two tickets per resident per event unless otherwise stated. Tickets cannot be purchased on behalf of others**
