Have your say on Hurlstone Park Bowling Club site

Have your say on Hurlstone Park Bowling Club site Residents are being encouraged to have their say on the future use of the former Hurlstone Park Bowling Club and Memorial Park sites. No

Residents are being encouraged to have their say on the future use of the former Hurlstone Park Bowling Club and Memorial Park sites.

City of Canterbury Bankstown Mayor, Khal Asfour, said it was important all ideas are considered.

“I encourage residents to take the time to share their ideas for this site,” Mayor Asfour said.

“It could be more open space for a park, sports ground or multi-purpose community facility.”

The closure of the bowling club in June this year, followed the decision by the operators to vacate after serious building safety, access and compliance issues were identified by independent experts.

Discussions on the future of the site will begin on Saturday when interested residents are invited to provide their thoughts onsite (10 Marcia Street, Hurlstone Park) from 9am-noon.

For those who can’t make it, they are encouraged to complete an online survey at haveyoursay.cbcity.nsw.gov.au or provide their ideas in an email council@cbcity.nsw.gov.au or letter to Council - City of Canterbury Bankstown, PO Box 8, Bankstown NSW 1885.

Submissions must be received by 5pm Monday 20 November.

“All ideas will be assessed and reported back to Council which will then make a final decision on the site,” Mayor Asfour said.

For more information, call the City Planning and Environment Team on 9707 9240.
