NSW Governor Margaret Beazley has offered her full support to the residents of the City of Canterbury Bankstown.
Her Excellency telephoned Mayor Khal Asfour shortly after the latest COVID update and asked what she could do for the community.

“She was totally understanding of our situation and at the front of her mind was how she could help,” Mayor Asfour said.
“She asked me to pass on her well wishes to the community and our staff and that if she could assist in any way she was more than willing to help out.
“Her call in the context of what is happening across the City is a real shot in the arm for my community.”
Mayor Asfour said her Excellency was no stranger to the area and in fact grew up in Hurstville and went to Mount Saint Joseph Girls High School in Milperra.
