High electricity bills? Want to take control and invest in a greener future? Concerned about who to trust to buy and install solar panels or storage batteries? Our Energy Future can help you with this by offering free advice, expert vetted suppliers and products, along with tips for people wanting to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and workplaces.

On World Environment Day, 5 June 2017, the Our Energy Future program goes live across participating regions, with the energy advice website, phone line, access to free no-obligation quotes on solar, and assessment services to residents.

The official launch event is to be held later in June at Redfern, followed by resident-focused Regional Roadshows kicking off in July 2017.

Residents and businesses in participating council regions will have the opportunity to get advice on renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, effectively putting money back into people’s pockets though reduced energy bills. Our Energy Future experts can recommend carefully selected products and services, and for a discounted rate, can conduct comprehensive energy assessments to offer more tailored advice.

Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) President, Cr Sally Betts is excited about the upcoming launch of the Program, stating, "We are delighted that Our Energy Future and SSROC have been able to come together with eight councils to deliver financial savings to our local residents."

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience, Program Lead Rob Kyle and the Our Energy Future Team are excited to launch the program with participating councils.

Eight councils are working with Our Energy Future, made up of Bayside, City of Canada Bay, Canterbury-Bankstown City, Georges River, Inner West, City of Parramatta, Randwick City, and City of Sydney. Several other councils showed are also interested and may join the project in 2018.

"We are delighted to have such strong participation from our member councils and from neighbouring regions." SSROC General Manager Namoi Dougall says, explaining that "Our Energy Future is a key element of SSROC’s Renewable Energy Master Plan, and will be run by Positive Charge for a 15-month pilot."

This program has been brought about through a collaboration by SSROC and delivered by the Our Energy Future team. Our Energy Future is coordinated by Positive Charge, a not-for-profit social enterprise.

"Our organisation has its foundations in working with local government to reduce emissions and increase the use of renewable and energy efficiency technologies. We are thrilled to be partnering with SSROC to bring this award-winning service to Sydney-region residents." Said Kate Nicolazzo, Manager Positive Charge.
