Tarzan will be swinging into Bryan Brown Theatre, with the Disney favourite one of the hit shows coming to Canterbury-Bankstown in 2019.
Mayor Khal Asfour said the added bonus for the stage show adaptation will be the music.
“The Canterbury Theatre Guild have been able to secure the rights to use the Phil Collins music score, which is just fantastic,” he said.
“Tarzan will run for just over a week, followed by the classic musical My Fair Lady.
“We have a diverse range of shows coming, so there will be something for everyone.”
More than 30,000 people visited Bryan Brown Theatre in 2018, to see 130 shows.
“We’re providing visitors and residents with a real theatre experience,” Mayor Asfour said.
“We roll out the red carpet, give people a chance to have their photo taken in front of the media wall, and provide a fully licensed bar for food and beverage purchases.
“Another highlight is the seating arrangement. No matter where you sit, you’ll always have the best seat in the house, because the theatre is been designed in a way where everyone has an equal view of the stage.”
Ticketing has also been made easier, with the community having the option to buy over the phone, in person at the Box Office, or online.
