Extensive community consultation will begin this month with residents invited to share their
10-year vision for the City of Canterbury Bankstown.
Administrator, Richard Colley, today encouraged all local residents to consider getting

in place by 1 July 2018.
“Our program of engagement will help identify the community’s main priorities and
aspirations, and enable a clear set of strategies to be developed to achieve that.

The main objectives of the Canterbury-Bankstown Community Engagement Strategy are:
• Better understand the community’s aspirations and priorities for the city to assist in aligning where residents want to be in 10 years’ time;
• Design and roll-out activities that attract meaningful engagement with community groups and residents, and remove barriers to participation; and
• Increase awareness of the new City of Canterbury Bankstown, including what the new Council does and the services it provides.
Engagement activities, to be conducted in March, April, May and June include:
Digital and online engagement;
Interactive mobile engagement;
Focus groups; and
“We want to make this engagement process meaningful, dynamic, collaborative, exciting and
all-encompassing, so no group or resident feels left out,” Mr Colley said.
“We want our residents, businesses, visitors, community and sporting groups to tell us what
they hope Canterbury-Bankstown can be for them.”
