Council wants your “in-putt” on the future of our greenest green spaces, our public golf courses, with a new survey.
The City of Canterbury Bankstown is reviewing a “fairway” to better utilise the open green space at Canterbury and Sefton Golf Courses for our community.
The survey results will assist Council to determine which open space areas community members prefer to use and what sports and activities they are interested in.
Part of the survey will also focus on how often the community visits our public golf courses and what deters them if they don’t.
Mayor Khal Asfour said it was important to consult all residents about the future use of the courses.
“There is no intention to change the use of golf courses for anything other than open space for the community,” Mayor Asfour said.
“This is about asking the community how much use they are getting out of the public golf courses and whether we can improve that.
“It’s a quick and easy survey that will help us figure out what we can do better to make our public spaces more equitably available for everyone.”
All residents are urged to login to Have Your Say and complete the survey before 5pm on Monday 23 November.
The link to the survey can be found at cb.city/golfreview
Interested residents can contact Nadine Croker on 9707 9638 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The review is expected to be complete later this year or by early 2021 and will deliver a strategy on the long-term use on both public golf courses.
Canterbury Golf Course is a 9-hole course located on Moorefields Road in Beverly Hills. Sefton Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course located on Rose Street in Sefton.
