Stay at home orders apply to a number of local government areas of concern, including Canterbury-Bankstown
This means you must stay home, unless you have a reasonable excuse. This includes:

  • Getting food or other goods and services for the personal needs of the household or for other household purposes, for pets or for vulnerable people:
    • Only one person per household should leave home to get food or other goods and services each day (you can take a dependent person with you if that person can’t be left at home).
    • The goods and services must be picked up within the local government area where you live, or within 5km of where you live, but not in another area of concern. If the goods or services are not available in the local government area where you live, or within 5km of where you live, you can travel to the nearest place where they are available.
    • Browsing in shops is not allowed.
  • Leaving home to go to work if you:
    • Cannot reasonably work from home and your workplace is in the same local government area or the 12 suburbs of the Penrith local government area you are living in or staying in or
    • Are an authorised worker and you need to travel outside your local government area to go to work, provided that from 28 August 2021 you are registered to travel (unless you provide an emergency service) or
    • Are attending an interview or an assessment for work which cannot take place at your home (ensuring all other requirements for work are met).
  • Leaving home for education if it is not possible to do it at home
  • Exercise or supervise a child aged 12 or under who is exercising or playing within 5km of your home or within your local government area.
  • Going out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination
  • Transporting a member of your household who is authorised to leave because they have a reasonable excuse (for example, taking a child to school), or taking a person to a home within their friends bubble.
  • To visit a person as their nominated visitor.
  • To participate in a friends bubble.

From 15 September 2021, the curfew has been lifted in local government areas of concern.
