Seniors are invited to take part in this year’s NSW Seniors Festival, which will include:

  • A Seniors Festival Concert

  • Bus trips to Bowral

  • Health and Wellbeing activities

  • Tea, Dance and Fiesta at the Arts Centre

  • Library Talks and Workshops

  • Meals on Wheels Volunteers Concert

Seniors Concert

Sunday 24 February

  • TIME: 2-4pm
  • WHERE: Bankstown Sports Club, The Grand Ballroom
  • COST: $2

Come along to this year’s Seniors Concert to celebrate the important role and contribution seniors play in our community. Tickets can be purchased at Council’s Customer Service Centres in Bankstown and Campsie from 22nd January 2019. For more information, call our Community Services Team on 9789 9594.

Active CB Seniors Festival sessions are aimed for people 55+ years and are designed to be done in a fun, sociable and inclusive environment, and the best part about them is they’re FREE. Canterbury-Bankstown residents are only eligible for registration. All-day bus trip to Bowral

Tuesday 19 February, Wednesday 20 February & ​Thursday 21 February

  • TIME: 8am-4pm
  • COST: $20 per person

To celebrate NSW Seniors Festival, we’ve organised a day trip to visit Bowral, stopping for morning tea at Bowral Senior Citizens Centre in Corbett Gardens, and lunch at Mittagong RSL. Seniors will be able to purchase tickets from Council’s Customer Service Centres in Bankstown and Campsie from 22nd January 2019. This event is for seniors 60+ (or 45+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders). Limited spaces. For more information, call our Community Services Team on 9789 9594.​


Tea, Dance and Fiesta

Every Wednesday from ​6 February to 17 April

  • WHAT: Tea, dance and fiesta
  • TIME: 10am-noon
  • WHERE: Bankstown Art Centre

COST $20 per person for the 11​-week program

To celebrate NSW Seniors Festival, Council has organised a dance adventure for seniors to learn how to Salsa! Seniors of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the exciting Tea Dance Fiesta. No partner required and no previous experience necessary.​

Susan Zimmerman exhibition

Monday to Friday from ​​1 February to 27 February

  • WHAT: Susan Zimmerman art exhibition
  • TIME: 9am-5pm
  • WHERE: Bankstown Art Centre Incubate Gallery

Drawn to arts and crafts, from a young age, artist Susan Zimmermann started to learn folk art painting in 1991. She joined Bankstown Art Society after an early retirement and, since then, her art has progressed from traditional to more abstract forms. 

 


Meals on Wheels Concert

Sylvan Grove Native Garden Tour

Don't Knock Your Granny

The Older Women’s Network presents their theatre production which sheds light on the dark topic of elder abuse. The show will make you laugh and cry as you listen to women’s actual experiences.
