Active transport refers to the promotion of people powered (usually walking or cycling) and public transport as a preferred alternative to using cars for travel.
There are many benefits to using active transport as an alternative to exclusively using cars for transport. Not only is active transport cost effective, walking is free. But has the added health benefits of increased exercise. Active transport also has environmental benefits helping reduce the emissions we release into the environment reducing pollution allowing for better air quality.

​The implementation of an integrated "Active Transport Strategy" will be an essential tool to promoting a smarter and healthier choice when it comes to transport options. It's more cost-effective, too.
