Important notice-Planning Certificates

To implement the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023, which includes changes in zoning and permitted land uses, some of our systems were temporarily offline to make necessary updates.

As an update, Council has resumed the issuance of certificates on the 5 July 2023. However, please note that it may take up to ten working days to process these certificates from that date. From 5 July-19 July 2023, we will not accept any urgent planning certificate orders. For any changes or updates, please refer to our website, where we will provide regular information. We recommend checking for any changes to the turnaround times before placing your certificate order.

About the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023
We are excited to announce that the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023 and Development Control Plan 2023, a comprehensive planning framework, will take effect on Friday 23 June 2023.
In 2019, our Council introduced Connective City 2036, a strategic planning vision that serves as a guide for our City's growth. This vision focuses on sustainable development, the preservation of our environment, the provision of housing for future generations, and the maximisation of employment opportunities.
The next phase involved the development of our Consolidated Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan. These planning documents embody the vision of Connective City 2036 and merge the regulations of the former councils into a single set of planning rules. They will apply to all development applications lodged on or after 23 June 2023.
We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during the transition to our new planning controls, as these changes happen periodically.
