For Schools

For Schools
Schools can ask us about Library orientation tours, Find Stuff at Your Library, Book Week, Local History talks and literacy.

There's more to finding reliable information than doing a Google search, and at CBCity Libraries we can help your students find the trustworthy information they need.

We offer a wealth of knowledge and resources that you and your students can rely on. Beyond computers and lending services, our librarians provide workshops, tours and talks, all of which can be customised to the curriculum, subject or level requirements.

We can provide excursion and incursion access for classes, teachers or parents on the following:

Library orientation tours

Our librarian-led tours familiarise your students with the library and our services.

Find Stuff @ Your Library

Our librarians can visit your school, during term or on your planning days, to make a tailored presentation to teachers or students, highlighting research resources, including:

Literacy Skills

Our librarians can help foster a love of reading and development of literacy skills with parents and students.

Local History

We offer talks on the history of Canterbury-Bankstown and can tailor the talk or presentation to the school, emphasising the history local to their area, including:
  • Timeline of the area
  • Suburb names
  • Past and present

Book Week visits

During Book Week, all schools are invited to help us celebrate with library visits and competitions.
