Reading Colours Your World! 

Join our fun Summer Reading Club for readers aged from 0-18 years!  The club runs throughout December and January (closes 31 January 2022), with lucky dips and a major prize draw at the end. There will also be lots of competitions and other fun! 

It's easy to take part- just join our online platform, Reader Zone, or pick up a Reading Log bookmark from your nearest library. 

Getting Started

Reader Zone is our new online platform that you can use to track your reading. It's fun and easy to use.

  • Download the Reader Zone app from the app store or Google store on your phone or tablet OR
  • Sign up to Reader Zone on your computer
  • Enter 24f0c when you are asked for the code to join our reading program
If you can't access Reader Zone, you can still take part by picking up a Reading Log bookmark from your nearest library.
As you reach reading targets in Reader Zone, you will receive badges, including one that qualifies you for a lucky dip prize and automatic entry into the final major prize draw. For those using bookmarks, just bring your completed bookmark into the library to get your lucky dip prize.
Age Groups

Read to Me (ages 0-4 years)
Those who are too young to read by themselves can share a book with an adult or older sibling. Every time you read a book, mark it off in the Reading Log bookmark or in the app.  After 10 books, come into the library to get a lucky dip prize and an automatic entry into our final major prize draw at the end of the Summer Reading Club.

Kids' Reading Club (ages 5-11 years)
Every time you read for 15 minutes, mark it off in your Reading Log bookmark or in the app. Meet a time target to get a lucky dip prize and automatically enter the final major prize draw at the end of the Summer Reading Club.

Teens Club (12-18yrs)
Every time you read for 20 minutes, mark it off on your Reading Log bookmark or in the app. Meet a time target to get a lucky dip prize and automatically enter the final major prize draw at the end of the Summer Reading Club.

Reading Club Competitions and Activities

Art and Photo Competition

Create a piece of art, draw us a picture, take a photo or write us a story about what inspires and brings colour to your world. Either take a photo of your work and use our Contact Us form to send it to us, or hand it to our friendly staff at your local library. Competition closes Monday 31 January 2022. Prizes to be won!

This competition closes on Monday 31 January 2022 and winners will be notified on Friday 4 February 2022 by email. Prizes include a rainbow goodie bag full of surprises and more.

Guessing Competition

Can you guess how many pear babies are hiding in the poster?

Visit your local library to see our poster, or take a look at an online image here, and let us know how many pear babies you can see. Submit your entry using our Contact Us form, or write it down with your name and contact details and hand it to our friendly staff at your local library. Prizes to be won!

This competition closes on Monday 31 January 2022 winners will be notified on Friday 4 February 2022 by email. Prizes include a full-size copy of the poster, colouring pencils and markers.

Reading Bingo

Join our fun reading bingo challenge to see how many you can complete these summer school holidays. The more you complete the better your chances of winning a prize pack.  Pick up a bingo card from one of our libraries.

Remember to send us a picture of you completing the activities using our Contact Us form.
