We offer a range of computer and Internet workshops for only $5.00 per person. It's never too early or too late to learn how to use a computer, smartphone, tablet or the to use the Internet, including how to search the Web, connecting via social media and or making phone calls over the Internet using Skype.

Computer Basics

You will learn basic functions of a PC - how to control a mouse, how to type on a keyboard, navigating the Windows desktop, creating and saving a document.

Email Basics

You will learn how to send Emails. You will practice sending messages, manage your inbox and folders.

Internet Basics

This workshop will introduce you to the Internet, explain the basic functions and use of a web browser, and show you how to search for information.

iPad Basics

This is an introduction to the iPad 2. You will explore fun and useful applications using the library iPads. You need to have some basic internet skills. 

Basic word Processing

This is an introduction to using Microsoft Word. You will learn how to format a page, type and print a document. You will also learn to create folders and move files. This workshop runs for 2.5 hours and costs $5.

Introducing Facebook

Confused by what you can do with Facebook? Come and learn how to get started with the most popular social network. We will also give advice about privacy and online safety. Basic computing and Internet skills are required.

Introducing Skype

This workshop will introduce you to Skype. You will learn about the functions of Skype and take part in a live video conversation.

Excel

You will learn how to organise data using this popular spreadsheet program.

Microsoft Publisher

This is an introduction to Microsoft Publisher. You will learn how to use this popular desktop publishing software to create invitations, greeting cards, leaflets and small booklets. You need to have some basic computer skills.

Job seeking

This is an introduction to job websites on the Internet. You will explore the best places to find employment and seek support and advice on writing a job application, cover letter and resume. You need to have some basic Internet skills.

Smart phones and tablets for all

​This workshop will introduce you to the versatile applications available on your tablet or your smartphone.

Downloading library eResources

Learn how to download eBooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and livestream eMovies straight to your computer, tablet or smartphone.

User help

Join us for this free, informal meeting. If you have questions about library e-Resources, computers or technology we can help.

Dig-it-all

Would you like help using your computer or mobile devices? Dig-It-All is a free, informal session for senior residents. Come along to learn new skills and share your knowledge with others.
Every second Monday during school terms​ - 10.30am-12.30pm

Payment

Our detailed, hands-on workshops are $5 per session. Payment is required at the time of booking to reserve your place.
