If you are housebound due to mobility difficulties or illness, our Home Library Service can bring books to your door. The service includes:

  • A personalised service to individuals who are unable to access the library because of illness or disability;
  • Bulk loans to residential facilities, such as hostels, nursing homes and hospitals, as well as loans to individual residents;
  • Service to residents that provide full-time care; and
  • A temporary service for residents convalescing (in recovery from ill health or treatments).

We are only able to offer Home Library service to individuals or institutions within the borders of our City. No age restrictions apply, but to apply for the Home Library Service, you must provide a written declaration from either a doctor or other health care professional, stating that for medical/physical reasons you are in need of a housebound service.
