The City of Canterbury Bankstown Multifaith Network was established in February 2013 by a group of leaders from different faith traditions in the City. It aims to build respect for other traditions and customs, and build community harmony.
The work of the members includes contributing to the community, building opportunities for conversations between different faiths, raising awareness of common aspects across faiths and working on joint projects that involve people of a range of faiths.
The members of the Multifaith Network operate from a conviction that all religions are about connecting people, and giving as well as receiving. This in turn builds mutual understanding and trust between diverse communities.
The Multifaith Network meets bi-monthly and is made up of Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Sathya Sai Baba and Inter-Faith leaders. It has conducted many multifaith community gatherings and award-winning inter-faith presentations since its inception.
If you are a faith leader and would like to join and participate in the Network's collaborative initiatives, or be added to the Canterbury Bankstown Multifaith Network mailing list, please contact Council's Diversity Officer.
For more information contact Council's Diversity Officer, Jae Yang on 9789 9472 or email Jae.Yang@cbcity.nsw.gov.au
