The Committee advise on issues that concern young people, local needs, facilities and resources. Youth Advisory Committee The Committee advises us on issues that concern young people, local needs, facilities and resources and contribute to Council policy formulation.  


​​The Youth Advisory Committee is made up of people aged between 12 and 25 years old. Schools and community groups were asked to nominate people to become members and interested people could also nominate themselves, providing they have a link with the Canterbury-​Bankstown area.​

The Committee uses an annual budget to organise projects for and with young people including Youth Week, school holiday activities and community projects.

They advise Council on issues that concern young people, local needs, facilities and resources. They also contribute to Council policy formulation, play an advocacy role for State or Commonwealth Government resources, and youth crime prevention initiatives.​
