​​​Canterbury-Bankstown 2018 Youth Awards

The Canterbury-Bankstown Youth Awards were open to all young people aged 12-18 years who live, work, or study in the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area.

Young people could be nominated or self nominate for any of the six categories:

  • Sporting
  • Leadership
  • Community Involvement
  • Academic Achievement
  • Inspiration 
  • Creative/Performing Arts.

These awards seek to recognise the achievements of young people and the valuable contribution they make to the local community. Winners of each category will receive a cash prize of $200, and all finalists will receive $50.

2018 Youth Awards Winners  

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners which were announced at a Youth Awards Ceremony in October.

The winners for 2018 are:

  • Leadership: Mustafa Syed, Picnic Point High
  • Inspiration: Andrew Kim, Canterbury Boys High
  • Academic Achievement: Muntaha Kayani, East Hills Girls Technology High School
  • Sporting: Constandinos Melas , St Euphemia College
  • Creative and Performing Arts: Bella Merlino, Santa Sabina College
  • Community Involvement:  Sarah Al Helfy, Birrong Girls High
