​​​The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee consists of a number of local older residents and representatives of key local organisations which helped to provide services to seniors. They meet quarterly. The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee work together to consid support older people in our City and identify issues that affect them. They also take part in projects and other activities that make a real difference to the quality of older people's lives.​

Overview and proceedings

The aims of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee are to:

  • Provide information, advice and recommendations to us here at Council on issues of concern to older people living or working in our local area;
  • Enhance the quality of life for older people in the City through improved services, access, and opportunities for communication and discussion; and 
  • Membership of the Committee includes representatives of older resident groups and service agencies.
