Zero Barriers is an initiative created by The Multicultural Network, who are now partnering with City of Canterbury Bankstown.
We aim to increase accessibility to businesses, services and community groups for people with a disability. Zero Barriers provides support and guidance to businesses, services and groups, helping them address barriers that prevent people with a disability from shopping, participating or using a service like everyone else.
We are not only supporting businesses, services and groups but we're also creating a platform for a disability-friendly community, encouraging Canterbury-Bankstown to become one of the most inclusive communities in Australia.
We make these businesses, services and groups visible in the community by awarding them the Zero Barriers Logo that encourages people with a disability to shop, access or use the business or organisation displaying it.
We have created an Accessibility Guide that provides hints and tips to becoming more inclusive and includes a self-assessment.
Download the printable version.
We also recognise and promote businesses and organisations that make an effort to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities through the
Canterbury-Bankstown Local Business Awards.
If you want a Zero Barriers sticker to display at your business then complete the self-assessment and send it through to Jacob Steuart at
Jacob.Steuart@cbcity.nsw.gov.au or post it to 137 Beamish St, Campsie, NSW, 2194.
