​​​​The Disability Access Committee was designed to improve access in the community for residents who have a disability. The committee was made up of residents with disabilities, carers, representatives from disability organisations and disability service providers. At present, the Committee is currently on hold until the September 2017 elections, after which time a decision will be determined.

Objectives

Objectives of the Disability Access Committee include:

  • To advise Council on ways to improve services and facilities for people with disabilities;

  • To assist other community services to improve their facilities;

  • To provide an open forum for community members to raise disability issues; and 

  • To educate and provide information on disability issues. ​
