Men working with tools

In a traditional sense, men have often had sheds in their gardens. Men's Shed aims to provide a more social and less isolating environment for men of all ages and backgrounds to get together and work on projects, talk or simply relax. Men's Shed is a safe and busy environment where men can do the things they enjoy (whatever they may be) in an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship.

Get involved

You will need to pay a fee and complete an induction before you start. Members can then attend on any day that the facility is open, for any length of time.

Please note that members will need to be accredited in the use of the various tools and machines prior to commencing work on group or individual projects, however, the Shed can help with this.

Locations

Men's Shed can be found in the following locations:

  • Bankstown Men's Shed - Along Rodd Street, Birrong (adjacent to the Birrong Bowling Club). The Shed is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8am-3pm.

  • Canterbury Men's Shed - 109 Clissold Parade, Campsie. The Shed is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am - 5pm. The shed is a place where men and women aged 55 and over can come together for toy making, repairs and small projects for people and organisations in the community. The Shed’s annual toy sale is held at the end of November each year and also welcomes prospective members to join for the company, coffee and conversation. For any further information, please contact the Secretary Esther Roberts on 8021-1235 or 0412-200-812.
