Bankstown Arts Centre's Access Programs aim to:

  • Actively engage people with disability;
  • Support artistic and cultural practice amongst those with disability,;
  • Engages high calibre professional artists as tutors; and 
  • Develops new audiences for individual artists and works in partnership with the following key local disability service organisations.

What we offer

  • Skills Development Art Workshops
     Performance making, music, dance, digital media and ceramics to provide diverse artform experiences for people with disability in an integrated, supportive and professional environment.

  • Masterclass for Local Artists
     Training of local artists/tenant art organisations and arts workers exploring inclusiveness and diversity in practice.

  • Artists with Disability in Residence
     Supporting artists with disabilities to work individually or work with mentors to develop as practising artists.

Supported Studios

Are you a visual artist with disability, who has a passion for developing your professional practice in the arts? The Arts Centre provides studio space and access to specialised tuition from established artists.

If you would like to further develop your portfolio of work and build on your existing arts practice, please consider joining one of the two supported studios below:

Thursday Supported Studio

  • Thursday, 10am-Noon
  • Tutor: Rhonda Dee
  • Ages: suitable for 16 years and over
  • Fee (each term): $100
