Elizabeth West: Wrapped

29 July 2017

The installation – Wrapped at the forecourt of the Arts Centre is constructed using hundreds of pieces of clear plastic food packaging, which are bound together to form a walk through maze. Wrapped draws attention to the problem of incorrect recycling. A labyrinth is a maze where people usually go to meditate, self-reflect and get lost in their own thoughts, so I hope they will self-reflect on their own plastic recycling practices. Wrapped explores the scale of plastic food packaging waste, offering a different perspective to common statistics.
