Maintenance and Capital Works  


​2019-20 projects​

A record $100 million will be invested in 384 projects in 2019-20, including:

  • $22.2M for roads;
  • $9.8M for parks and sporting fields;
  • $9.8M for town centres;
  • $8.7M for traffic improvements;
  • $6.9M for buildings;
  • $5M for bridges;
  • $4.1M for footpaths and boardwalks;
  • $2.7M for stormwater drainage;
  • $2.2M for car parks;
  • $1.8M for water quality and waterways.

The projects, which have been identified and prioritised for 2019-20, were selected based on the condition of existing assets and feedback from residents.  More than 10,000 residents told us they want Canterbury-Bankstown to be safe and strong; clean and green; prosperous and innovative; moving and integrated; healthy and active; liveable and distinctive; and leading and engaged, by 2028 (see​​.​

We have an on-going program of capital works as well as upgrades to buildings, parks, playgrounds and roads across the area, to ensure that standards are kept high.

Transmission cable project - TransGrid 

TransGrid will be installing major power transmission infrastructure through our City from Potts Hill to Alexandria.
